While West Ham and Manchester City are discussing the transfer of Lucas Paqueta, the matter has stalled due to a sports betting case involving relatives of the Brazilian.

According to Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna, Lucas Paqueta is under investigation by the Premier League over sports betting. Some of the relatives of the former Lyonnais would indeed have bet on meetings with West Ham.
This matter is to be taken seriously because the Premier League can be very strict in terms of sports betting. Ivan Toney, who had repeatedly bet on Brentford meetings (when he was not playing), was suspended for eight months.
