Neymar has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo’s influence on the Saudi Pro League, following his own move to the Middle East.

Following the finalization of his recent move to Al-Hilal, the 31-year-old striker insisted he owes a lot to Al-Nassr striker Crisstiano Ronaldo, for his influence on the recent growth of football in Saudi Arabia.

“I believe Cristiano Ronaldo started all this and everyone called him ‘crazy’, and this and that, today you see the championship more and more,” Neymar told official Al-Hilal channels, following his transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to the Middle East earlier this week. It has been reported that the ex-Barcelona will earn a whopping €160m in Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo, Neymar, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté and Jordan Henderson are just some of the names to leave Europe’s top leagues for the Gulf state this summer, and it’s a safe bet we’ll see more in addition to players joining the Saudi Pro League in the coming years.
