Leandro Paredes will return to AS Roma when he has never managed to convince the leaders of Paris Saint-Germain over time. Arrived in 2019 in the French capital from Zenit Saint-Petersburg, the Argentinian midfielder has even become an “undesirable”, like several other players of the Rouge et Bleu including his future teammate within his new team, Renato Sanches, as his adventure with the Parisian club turned sour.
After a very mixed loan in Turin with Juventus, Leandro Paredes had also returned to Paris at the start of this summer transfer window, but his status had not changed. Always sidelined by his management, the Argentinian international has therefore decided to return to his first love in Italy to relaunch himself in a championship that he particularly likes. And that’s good, AS Roma is ready to welcome its former player, now 29 years old, since an agreement had been reached between the Parisian leaders and their Parisian counterparts, as we revealed to you.
A return to basics
The midfielder had already arrived in Rome at the end of last week to begin his medical examination before committing definitively to the formation of the Italian capital led by José Mourinho. “After a season spent at Juventus Turin as part of a loan, Leandro Paredes is transferred definitively to AS Roma”, can we read in the official press release published by the Parisian club. In the process, the Wolf clarified that he signed until 2025.
If the price of this operation has not yet filtered, we are able to confirm that the amount of the transfer of the Argentine is around two million euros (plus two million easily attainable bonuses). For his part, Leandro Paredes has signed a three-year contract with AS Roma. PSG therefore limits the damage by getting rid of a player who has become too cumbersome within the first team while the midfielder can now relaunch in a club he knows very well.
