An important Olympique de Marseille player has made an announcement about his short-term future.
Very active during this summer transfer window, Olympique de Marseille could still strengthen by the close of the market. But the Marseille club is not immune to an important departure. The result of the Champions League play-off against Panathinaikos on Tuesday evening could condition the last ten days of this transfer window.
Among the departures considered was that of Jordan Veretout. A year after his arrival at La Canebière, the French international has to deal with even greater competition with the arrival of Geoffrey Kondogbia, whose profile is added to those of Valentin Rongier and Mattéo Guendouzi.
“There is no transfer window”
Veretout has kept an excellent rating in Italy after his spells at Fiorentina and AS Roma. The name of the 2022 vice-world champion thus returned to certain transalpine media, which reported a strong interest from AC Milan. But the main interested party wanted to send a very clear message.
Called to speak on the subject, Jordan Veretout was very clear. ” I am very happy to be at Olympique de Marseille, in the biggest French club. I came here and I’m very happy about it. For me, there is no transfer window, and then it’s up to the club to see. All players present here are concerned“. The message got through.
