It’s a great sale that Stade Rennais is about to make. For several weeks now, the Breton team has been negotiating with Wolfsburg, a German club interested in the services of Lovro Majer. From the height of his 25 years, the Croatian international should join the formation of the Bundesliga and discover a new championship, two years after his arrival in France.
According to our information, the two clubs have thus reached an agreement for the transfer of the player. Wolfsburg will thus pay 30 million euros for the Croatian, with an additional 5 million euros in the form of bonuses. The player will fly to the German city on Tuesday to pass the traditional medical examination and sign his contract.
A five-year contract awaits him
Lovro Majer will commit for five seasons with the German training, with whom he will therefore be linked until June 2028. A sacred added value for Stade Rennais, since the Croatian had cost “only” 12 million euros there are two summer transfer windows. In recent months, he has also been coveted by various German clubs and even by PSG and Atlético.
Last season, Majer played 32 league games – including 18 starts – and scored 2 goals and provided 5 assists. He joins a club which finished in eighth place in the Bundesliga last season and which has just offered Joakim Maehle.
