Spain qualified for their first World Cup final by beating Sweden (2-1) in the final. La Roja will face England or Australia.

A great first for Spain. Having never passed the round of 16 so far, La Roja qualified for the final of the 2023 World Cup, having the last word against Sweden (2-1) at Eden Auckland Park.

Spain thought they had done the hardest part by opening the scoring with their “super-sub”, Salma Paralluelo (81st), who was already a decisive entrant in the quarter-finals. Sweden equalized in stride by Rebecka Blomqvist (88th), but the Iberians immediately regained the upper hand thanks to Olga Carmona Garcia (89th).

Spain will challenge in the final the winner of the other semi-final which will oppose England to Australia on Wednesday.
