FC Barcelona defender Clément Lenglet could finally leave the club, according to information from The Athletic.
On loan last season from Tottenham Hotspur, Lenglet was thought to return to London this summer on a permanent deal. But neither Spurs nor FC Barcelona wanting to give in on their demands, the operation was interrupted. Lenglet has also attracted interest from Milan and Juventus in Serie A, but neither club has shown a willingness to sign him.
According to the latest information, Lenglet is now close to a move to Saudi club Al Nassr. The Frenchman previously ruled out a move to the Middle East but with options seemingly scarce, Guillermo Rai claims Lenglet is now open to a move.
If FC Barcelona manage to get Lenglet off, it will be a relief for the Catalan accountants, who will free up valuable space in their salary cap as the final stages of the transfer window approach.
Xavi is keen on the arrival of a right-back and Lenglet’s departure could help.
