After the abandonment of charges for attempted rape and assault last February, Mason Greenwood (21) is not out of the woods at Manchester United. The Red Devils are taking their time and carrying out an internal investigation in order to find out more about him and the charges and make the best decision whether to reinstate him or get rid of him. Recently, the Mancunians decided against giving him a number for the season. One could think then that he would go away.

But the residents of Old Trafford have not yet decided. The Athletic explains that the Red Devils will delay announcing their decision. It is possible that they decide before the international break in September, in about three weeks. Greenwood, who has always denied the accusations against him, is waiting for his fate to be sealed.
