Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Moises Caicedo from Brighton for a record fee of £115m.
The Blues have announced that the midfielder has signed an eight-year contract which Chelsea have the option of extending for a season.
The club officially revealed the deal by posting a short video of the midfielder wearing the Chelsea shirt and hugging his mother while sitting on the trunk of a car.
This video echoes a photo of the duo taken in their native Ecuador, where Caicedo wears the national team shirt.
The deal caps a remarkable rise for the 21-year-old who arrived at Brighton in February 2021 for a fee of around £4.5million.
A bidding war between Chelsea and Liverpool resulted in a record-breaking £115m bid and a huge return on investment for the Seagulls, who would have kept part of any future sale.
