This is good news for Paris Saint-Germain and its supporters. Indeed, Kylian Mbappé had been dismissed from the Parisian group traveling this summer for the summer tour in Asia and had been invited to join the loft, where he found Neymar Jr or Marco Verratti a few days later. But for a few hours, the situation seems to have calmed down between the star striker, under contract until 2024 (with an optional year) and the capital club, held in check at home on Saturday evening by FC Lorient ( 0-0) for the official premiere of Luis Enrique.
The 2018 world champion was also present in the stands of the Parc des Princes for the entry into the running of the reigning French champions in this 2023-2024 Ligue 1 season alongside the last summer recruit, Ousmane Dembélé. A presence which already showed a drop in tensions with the Parisian sports management, with whom he had been in arm wrestling for a few weeks. Indeed, the board believed that the 24-year-old had already reached an agreement to join Real Madrid at the end of his contract in June 2024, thus leaving PSG for free.
The end of a showdown?
Nevertheless, the soap opera around Kylian Mbappé took an interesting turn this Sunday morning. Indeed, the PSG announces that the top scorer in the history of the club (212 achievements in 260 meetings TCC) has returned to the professional group: “After very constructive and positive discussions between Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappé before the PSG – Lorient match, the player was reinstated in the first training team this morning”, can we read in the press release. A return which therefore confirms a better relationship between the different parties.
Something to give some smile to the main interested party, who wanted to honor his contract by playing this season in the red and blue jersey. But also to his new coach Luis Enrique, who can count on the significant talent of the tricolor international (70 caps, 40 goals), who would not have been too much in an obvious but unrealized domination against the Hakes. As a reminder, last season, KM7 finished top scorer in Ligue 1, with 29 achievements registered, in addition to 6 offerings delivered.
