A new adventure is taking shape for Dimitri Payet. Without a club since leaving Olympique de Marseille several days ago, the former international has found a new base for next season. The former Marseille number 10 bounces back in the Brazilian championship at Vasco De Gama.
The Reunionese is committed with the Brazilian club until June 2025. The attacking midfielder will discover a new continent and a new championship at the age of 36. Vasco de Gama is the 8th club of his professional career. He will aim to bring his experience and allow the club to recover. Vasco is currently penultimate in the Brazilian championship.
The Frenchman’s choice to join Latin America may seem surprising. The playmaker would have been seduced by his coach Jorge Sampaoli who trained in Brazil but also by one of his former Brazilian partners, namely Gerson.
The former Marseille player will wear the number 10 of the club. He will evolve under the Brazilian jersey with players known from the Old Continent like the Chilean Gary Medel.
