At 10 months from the next Euro, Roberto Mancini has resigned from his position as coach of Italy.

Earthquake in Italian football! Roberto Mancini resigned on Sunday from his post as coach of the Nazionale. A decision which was announced only 10 months before Euro 2024, when the experienced Italian technician had also just been appointed head of the U20 and U21 selections, which surprised the transalpine press.

Mancini had been at the head of the Italian selection since 2018. Under his leadership, Gianluigi Donnarumma and his teammates won Euro 2020, in the final against England, after a remarkably controlled tournament at the collective level. In the process, Italy fell from a height by being eliminated from the race for the 2022 World Cup by North Macedonia.
