RC Lens led 2-0 in Brest before sinking and losing 3-2 in Brittany on Sunday afternoon.
This RC Lens season without Seko Fofana or Loïs Openda is off to a bad start… The reigning French vice-champion lost on the Stade Brestois pitch (3-2), Sunday afternoon, at the opening of Ligue 1 , while the Sang et Or were leading 2-0 after 25 minutes of play!
Still as generous offensively, Franck Haise’s men scored via Florian Sotoca from a corner (11th) and Deiver Machado on the counterattack (22nd). And the visitors continued to attack, with however a Morgan Guilavogui little found in front. An avoidable fault by Jonathan Gradit in his area allowed the Brestois to revive just before half-time, Romain Del Castillo transforming the penalty (45th + 2).
A 2nd penalty conceded by the Lensois
The meeting really changed in the second half, with Brestois who put pressure on the goal of Brice Samba. Kenny Lala equalized with a long shot that escaped the French international (65th). And after the exclusion of Adrien Thomasson for a sole 10 minutes from the end (82nd), the formation of Eric Roy offered a victory to the public of the Stade Francis Le Blé, on a new penalty converted by Del Castillo (87th ).
RC Lens follows directly with a nice shock against Stade Rennais, next Sunday at Bollaert. Brest will travel to Le Havre, one of the two promoted, earlier today.
