PSG: Ousmane Dembélé releases his truths about his arrival

Approached several times in recent years, the former Stade Rennais player had always remained at FC Barcelona and had also extended his contract last summer. But this summer, Ousmane Dembélé finally decided to join Paris Saint-Germain from Barça, as the press release from the French club informs. The world champion, who will wear number 23, has signed up for 5 seasons and against a transfer of around 50 million euros.

In an interview with the media of his new club, the French international delivered his first words. “I am very proud to join a great club like Paris Saint-Germain. I’m excited to discover the Parc des Princes, and to train with my new teammates.”he explained before recounting his decision to leave Barça, who nevertheless greatly wanted to keep him. “For me, having confidence is essential for a football player. I also discussed with the sporting director and the President. I spoke with them, they really explained the Paris Saint-Germain project to me and I liked it. I hope we will do great things together.”.

Ousmane Dembélé reveals his goals

After having also explained his desire to return to France and to his Paris region, Ousmane Dembélé revealed his objectives. “Obviously, it’s first of all to win titles, to make the supporters, the city proud and then to go as far as possible in the Champions League. Then, even if I don’t like talking about myself too much personally, I hope to score lots of goals, make lots of assists and give joy to the fans. And then I also come to learn. (…) Today, I return here to France, in a championship which has evolved enormously since then”.

Finally, the latest Parisian recruit shared his human qualities in the locker room. “Outside the locker room, I’m always in a good mood. I like to tease everyone a bit. I am also known a little about that. So yes, I will try to bring my joie de vivre back to the group.he concluded, before thanking the supporters. “I like to give joy, I like to dribble, to stir up the crowds. And Paris is all that! I need the supporters’ confidence. I’ll try to give it back to you on the pitch.”. Parisian supporters are impatiently awaiting his first steps.
