PSG already upset

For its first outing of the season in the league, PSG was held in check by Lorient this Saturday at the Parc des Princes (0-0).

Ousmane Dembélé in the stands alongside Kylian Mbappé, this is undoubtedly one of the images of the evening at the Parc des Princes. If the PSG has achieved a big hit on the transfer market, the latent conflict between the management and the captain of the France team is serving the capital club considerably. Proof of this is this goalless draw which on Saturday evening sanctioned the debates between Paris and Lorient, as part of the first lifting of Ligue 1.

With an attacking trio made up of Gonçalo Ramos, Marco Asensio and Kang-in Lee, the capital club failed to materialize their clear domination of the first act, illustrated by a possession of the ball at 78%. Ramos made a good request for Mvogo (8e) but the best opportunity in this initial period, on arrival, will have been to the credit of Abergel, who with a distant attempt sounded the frame defended by Donnarumma (42e).

After the break, the Parisian game got poorer over the minutes; so much so that we had to wait until the last quarter of an hour to see PSG on the attack: on a new check from Mvogo – this time in front of Ruiz (76e) – a header from Ramos too uncrossed (78e) and a takeover of Ugarte out of frame (90e+5). Like its lackluster summer preparation, Paris remains in running-in, in obvious trouble with offensive assets. Paradoxical for a club that allows itself to leave Mbappé and Neymar on the sidelines…
