Arsenal kicked off their Premier League season with a 2-1 victory over Nottingham on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium, thanks to two fine goals.

The vice-champion of England responds to the defending champion. The day after Manchester City’s (easy) victory over Burnley (0-3), Arsenal dominated Nottingham Forest (2-1) on Saturday in front of their audience at the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta’s men quickly took the lead in the first half, thanks to two superb goals.

Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring after being found in full surface by Gabriel Martinelli, author of a Zidane roulette between several opposing players (26th)! An achievement accompanied by this rather incredible technical gesture which put the Gunners on the right track, the Londoners making the break on a powerful strike from Bukayo Saka (32nd).

Martin Odegaard and his teammates did not manage to widen the gap thereafter, the fault in particular of Kai Havertz again unhappy in front of goal. Forest revived the suspense, thanks to a goal from Taiwo Awoniyi on a huge acceleration from Anthony Elanga (82nd). Arsenal held on and will continue against Crystal Palace in 9 days.
