Undesirables, Neymar and Verratti should not join the Paris Saint-Germain loft.
What will be the PSG squad at the start of the season? Saturday at 9 p.m., Paris Saint-Germain receives FC Lorient at the Parc des Princes on the occasion of the first day of Ligue 1. While the signing of Ousmane Dembélé is acquired, the Parisian club is campaigning to remove some undesirables that shouldn’t be on the first match sheet. This is the case of Neymar who is under contract until June 2027, and Marco Verratti, under contract until June 2026.
The capital club obviously no longer counts on its two stars placed on the transfer list. Verratti and Neymar will not, however, be returned to the banished group, the loft, as explained The Team in its current edition. PSG does not want to add tension within the group by demoting the two players, at a time when the situation with Kylian Mbappé, placed in this famous loft, remains blocked. The daily, however, specifies that Marco Verratti could be called up by the Spanish coach against Lorient, but he could be placed on the substitutes’ bench. The Brazilian, on the other hand, is expected to be invited to stay at home on Saturday night.
Tracks for both players
While their future should loom far from Paris, the players have several offers. The press generally defines three possible destinations for the Brazilian: Saudi Arabia, MLS where one of the two Los Angeles clubs would have started to position itself, and finally Barça. On the side of Marco Verratti, it is still Saudi Arabia which seems to be the most probable destination due to the amount requested by PSG to release him. Paris refused 45M€ and expects more. Business to follow.
