Lloris, things are going badly!

On the departure of Tottenham, Hugo Lloris, 36, would be interested in the proposal of Lazio, except that a simple place of number 2 awaits him!

Hugo Lloris is still waiting to find a way out. The 36-year-old goalkeeper and Tottenham decided last spring to end a beautiful story that lasted 15 seasons. Spurs have already turned the page, recruiting Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli. But the former captain of the France team, who will be released if he finds a club, has not signed in Saudi Arabia or PSG and will probably not come to Real Madrid (his name was cited after the serious injury to Thibaut Courtois).

It is in Italy that Lloris could continue his career, since he is interested in the proposal of Lazio, as announced Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Friday. Except that the Italian press absolutely does not see the 2018 world champion landing as number 1 of the Biancocelesti. And for good reason, Ivan Provedel was recruited last year from La Spezia and established himself as the excellent goalkeeper of the Roman team, which finished 2nd in Serie A.

If he opts for Lazio, Lloris would thus become Provedel’s understudy. The 29-year-old goalkeeper was called up to the Italian selection in September 2022 before being voted best goalkeeper in the Italian championship. It is hard to see Maurizio Sarri put his titular goalkeeper in competition or even deprive him of Champions League matches, even for the benefit of a player as experienced as Hugo Lloris.
