Lionel Messi was caught repositioning the ball ahead of his free-kick goal against FC Dallas, earning him praise from Taylor Twellman.
Messi’s Inter Miami faced Dallas in the League Cup round of 16 and were awarded a free kick not far from the goal.
The Argentine darts forward and puts the set-piece into the back of the net, but never-before-seen footage shows the Argentine stealthily moving the ball a few inches five times in order to be in a better position to shoot on goal. The move prompted former USA international Taylor Twellman, who has been quick to comment on all things Messi since leaving for Miami, to react with a GOAT hashtag.

Miami won the game on penalties after a 4-4 draw at the end of regulation time. Messi’s side will face Charlotte in the quarter-finals of the competition which has delayed the former PSG star’s MLS debut.
Since arriving in the United States, the legendary Argentine has made a name for himself by scoring seven goals in just four matches. He is already the fourth top scorer in the history of Inter Miami.
