After Manchester United on Tuesday, it’s Real Madrid’s turn to unveil its third jersey for the 2023-2024 season, in collaboration with its historic equipment supplier, adidas, with which the White House is still under contract until 2028. And for this third shirt for Carlo Ancelotti’s players – winners of the Spanish Cup last year, the equipment manufacturer has opted for a two-tone jersey in an intense black color enhanced with touches of yellow in honor of the crown which appears on the club crest.
The result is a shirt that reminds fans of iconic moments from the club’s illustrious European nights, including winning the Champions League a record 14 times. In particular, black was chosen to mimic what was worn when Real Madrid were crowned champions after an epic game. This third jersey is designed by the equipment manufacturer with the three stripes to be at the crossroads of streetwear aesthetics and the most efficient technologies to optimize the performance of athletes.
“We were inspired by Real Madrid’s long-standing position as a pioneer in the field of football, to create an object that allows fans and players to distinguish themselves. It is first and foremost a piece designed to support athletes on the biggest stage. However, by designing at the intersection of heritage, identity and expression, this is a jersey designed to be as effective for supporters on the street as it is for players on the pitch.said Sam Handy, vice president of design for the Herzogenaurach-based company.
