The raid on Saudi Arabia continues and is not about to stop. This summer transfer window is marked by the domination of Saudi clubs on the old continent by snatching the signatures of several very high level players. This time, it is a player from Olympique Lyonnais who seems to be heading for the Gulf country.

This Thursday evening, the newspaperCrew announces that Olympique Lyonnais striker Karl-Toko Ekambi is expected to join Saudi outfit Abha Club. His transfer should bring the sum of 1.7 million euros to the Rhone club

Considered an undesirable element of Laurent Blanc’s workforce, the departure of the Cameroonian international is anything but a surprise. The Indomitable Lions player was no longer desired by the Lyon leaders but also by the supporters who repeatedly took a dislike to him.

His future salary at Abha Club is not yet known but there is no doubt that his departure will relieve the wage bill of Olympique Lyonnais which is in the eye of the storm at the DNCG.

At 30, Karl-Toko Ekambi will know a new club, the seventh since the start of his professional career in 2010. Arrived in the workforce of Les Gones during the winter transfer window 2020, Toko Ekambi found the net at 38 times in 118 matches played.

During his loan last season at Stade Rennais, he played 19 matches for 5 goals scored.
