A new Premier League season ended a few months ago. And as usual, for the fifth consecutive season since its rise in 2018, Wolverhampton finished between 7th and 13th place. Subscriber to the soft belly, the Wolves stagnate while they were on the edge of Europe between 2018 and 2020. Eager to return to these waters, the residents of the Molineux Stadium will get rid of Julen Lopetegui. A decision that would really not bother the former coach of Real Madrid and Seville, who had also criticized his leaders for not having put resources on the transfer market after losing several executives including Ruben Neves.

According Sky Sports, the two parties are currently working around a mutual termination of the Spanish coach, who arrived last November on the other side of the Channel. The English media adds that the track studied to replace him leads to Gary O’Neil. The former Bournemouth coach, without a club since June, has allowed the Cherries to maintain themselves despite limited resources and a complicated ranking situation. An experience that interests the leaders of Wolverhampton, plagued by financial difficulties and unambitious this season.
