Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is wanted by Monaco after their striker Breel Embolo suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in training.
Embolo could be out until the end of the calendar year and Monaco must now replace the 26-year-old. The Monegasques consider Balogun, the Arsenal striker, as the ideal replacement, after his excellent season on loan in France, in Reims, in 2022-23.
According The Athletic, Arsenal turned down an offer for Balogun from the Principality side. However, it’s unclear exactly how much money was offered for the USMNT star.
Balogun has also been linked with a move to Inter, but the Italian club are unlikely to meet Arsenal’s demands, having been forced to sell Andre Onana due to his massive debt problems.
It will be interesting to see where Balogun ends up. Space at Arsenal will be limited, so a departure is probably the striker’s best course of action.
