Lionel Messi’s heroic free kick against FC Dallas made him one of the top five scorers in Inter Miami history after just four games for the club.

Messi’s brace against FC Dallas in the 2023 League Cup Round of 16 saw the Argentine superstar move up to fourth among the top scorers in the history of David Beckham’s young club, netting his sixth and seventh goals in the competition.

Messi achieved the feat in just four appearances and joins teammate Josef Martinez and former Miami players Lewis Morgan and Rodolfo Pizarro with seven goals. He trails fellow Argentine Gonzalo Higuain by 22 goals as the team’s all-time top scorer. The club was only founded in 2018.

Messi and Inter Miami will face the winner of Monday night’s game between Houston Dynamo and Charlotte FC in the quarter-finals on August 11.
