The Premier League has taken a lot this summer. If these clubs have had fun by stripping the other European championships, the English have also seen how Saudi Arabia did the same, by going to draw regularly from the Premier League leaders. Many rather highly rated players have packed their bags to fly to the Gulf countries, such as Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, N’Golo Kanté, Roberto Firmino or Edouard Mendy.

And it’s not finished. The leaders of the biggest English clubs know it: the Saudis are still hungry and are not going to stop there. This weekend, the British press also revealed the names of the next two Saudi targets: Kévin De Bruyne (Manchester City) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool).

An insane salary

And the media Al Riyadiah, Saudi television, says a little more about the intentions of the Saudi championship concerning Salah. It is Al-Ittihad, the club which has already recruited Benzema and Kanté, which wishes to enlist him this summer. And the offer is tempting. For Liverpool already, since the club would recover a transfer fee of 60 million euros, a nice amount for a 31-year-old player.

But also for the principal concerned, who would receive an excessive salary in Saudi Arabia: 180 million euros in total over two years. On social networks, his agent Ramy Abbas Issa wanted to deny: “If we had considered leaving Liverpool this year, we would not have extended last summer. Mohamed is still involved at Liverpool”. But we know, denials in football, it’s worth what it’s worth…
