After her monumental performance against the United States, goalkeeper Zecira Musovic was asked by a journalist about Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as if Swedish football was all about the former PSG player.
This is one of the great performances of this World Cup. Sweden took out the United States (0-0, 5-4 pens) on Sunday in the round of 16. And the Blagult owe it in particular to their goalkeepers, who signed an exceptional performance by making no less than 11 saves during the match, before repelling Sophia Smith’s attempt during the penalty shootout.
After the meeting, however, several followers were annoyed by a question posed to the heroine of the day by a Brazilian journalist who found nothing better to ask her than if she knew Zlatan Ibrahimovic. “Yes, in Sweden everyone knows Zlatan”replied the Chelsea player, surprised.
I was sat two seats along from the journalist who asked this and could not believe what I heard. Utterly disrespectful after an incredible performance and a remarkable match/result
Also, we only got three questions to Musovic at the press conference. One of them was this bollocks https://t.co/JKGFlXihV1— Emma Smith (@emmasmithjourno) August 6, 2023
BBC journalist Emma Smith can’t believe what happened. “I was sitting two seats away from the reporter who asked this question and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, she says on Twitter. It’s totally disrespectful after an incredible performance and a remarkable match/result. Moreover, we were only able to ask Musovic three questions during the press conference. One of them was this bullshit. »
After such a performance, there was probably better to do than go on this ground, as if Swedish football was only about Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Especially since the women’s selection, finalist of the Olympic Games in 2016 and 2020, is generally more efficient than the men’s team, which was not qualified for the last World Cup.
