FC Barcelona have submitted a joint loan offer to Manchester City for Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo.
According Sport, FC Barcelona intends to carry out an ambitious operation this summer by being loaned the two Portuguese Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo by Manchester City. The report also suggests that the reigning La Liga champions have already submitted a proposal to the European champions.
Since the announcement of Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in Ousmane Dembele, FC Barcelona have been looking for a quality right winger to replace the Frenchman. Xavi sees Silva as the perfect addition to the team’s right flank. In their official offer with the Premier League club, Barcelona have reportedly retained a clause which would oblige them to buy Silva permanently for €70m at the end of the 2023/24 season.
While Cancelo’s loan could be possible, with the right-back keen to leave the club to get more playing time, Manchester City are unlikely to let Silva leave this season, especially after Riyad Mahrez left in the summer.
The Premier League champions have even informed the player’s suitors that he won’t be allowed to leave.
