The owner of Olympique Lyonnais could soon withdraw from Crystal Palace, one of the other clubs in which he is a shareholder.

However, if the American businessman is indeed the new boss on the side of OL, where he succeeded Jean-Michel Aulas, his impact is not the same in England. Textor only holds 46% of the capital of the London club, where he regrets having only limited influence.
” I’m at the limit of what I can buy, Textor recently explained to The Athletic, relays L’Equipe. I have 46% but I have one vote out of four on the board, against three guys who are close. As soon as there is a subject, it is three against one. The club is managed by Steve (Parrish) and a remarkable sports director (Dougie Freedman), and they don’t really listen to me about players. »
Textor threatens to look elsewhere
Textor is frustrated, therefore, and the American has made it clear that he could withdraw from his English club soon. The Missouri native explained that other Palace executives don’t have the same ” vision of a multi-club entity”. In other words, they want to remain the masters of their destiny, and not collaborate with other foreign groups.
This is not Textor’s project, which imagines two options. Either he actually takes control of Crystal Palace, which seems complicated. Either he will go “locate your capital elsewhere”, in another club, in England or elsewhere. This is the outcome that currently seems the most likely.
