PSG have reportedly received a serious boost in their bid to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani.
The French forward enjoyed a successful debut season in the Bundesliga, scoring 15 goals in 32 appearances and finishing third in the league’s goalscoring charts.
According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germanythe French international could leave the club after just one season at the Waldstadion.
According to this report, Muani has given his agreement in principle to join Ligue 1 champions PSG and a verbal agreement has been reached between the two parties.
Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche is said to be determined the former Nantes man won’t leave this summer unless PSG reach their £86m price tag.
Muani joined Frankfurt from Nantes on a free transfer last summer, and soon received his first international call-up.
Didier Deschamps has named Muani in his squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The striker scored in France’s semi-final win over Morocco, before scoring in the penalty shootout in the final loss to Argentina.
Muani’s strong performance last season caught the eye of Erik ten Hag, and Manchester United considered signing him before opting for Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund.
PSG, meanwhile, are looking to bolster their attacking options after a summer marked by the departure of Lionel Messi and uncertainty over the future of Kylian Mbappé, whose contract expires in twelve months.
Osimhen too expensive
Christophe Galtier was reportedly interested in Napoli star Victor Osimhen after the striker’s sensational Serie A season before the Frenchman left the club and was replaced by Luis Enrique.
The Ligue 1 champions have reportedly set their sights on Muani after refusing to meet Napoli’s asking price for their star striker.
