André-Pierre Gignac allowed the Tigers to take a new step in the Leagues Cup.
André-Pierre Gignac is in good shape. The 37-year-old French striker scored his third goal in four matches for the Tigers on Friday night in the Leagues Cup.
While his team was led 1-0 by Vancouver, the former Marseillais equalized with a nice return (53rd). Then Gignac scored his shot on goal during a session won by the Tigers (1-1, 5-3 on pens).
As a reminder, the Leagues Cup is a summer competition that pits Mexican clubs against MLS teams. The Tigers will be entitled to a Monterrey derby in the round of 16 against the Rayados.
