Due to their poor financial situation, FC Barcelona have been looking to sell many first-team players this summer, especially those not in Xavi Hernandez’s plans for the upcoming season.
Clément Lenglet falls into this category. The French centre-back has no future at Barcelona and the club are desperate to get rid of him in order to generate funds and save a significant sum on their wage bill.
Tottenham have shown interest in signing Lenglet, and Saudi Arabia are also interested. However, neither transaction is very advanced and, according to SportNaples entered the race.
The Serie A champions are looking for a replacement for Kim Min-Jae, who joined Bayern Munich at the start of the summer. The Neapolitans failed to achieve their primary goals so they could be interested in Lenglet.
FC Barcelona would ask 15 million euros for Lenglet, which is not much in absolute terms. However, the big question will be whether he will accept a significant pay cut to join Napoli which might not happen.
