The exodus to Saudi Arabia continues. The Kingdom should register the arrival of a new player from FC Barcelona.

Saudi Arabia is in vogue in this summer transfer window. While many big European players have joined the Saudi Pro League in recent weeks, Franck Kessié should add his name to this list. Absent from the plans of coach Xavi and management, the Ivorian (28 appearances and 1 goal in La Liga for the 2022-2023 season) should leave FC Barcelona.

The midfielder heads to Al-Ahli who, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, have passed on a €15m bid. The former Atalanta player will sign a three-season contract with the Saudi outfit for a net annual salary of 20 million euros, according to information from The Athletic.

The 26-year-old is expected to undergo his medical examination with the Saudi team in Paris this Friday before signing his contract. His arrival could be formalized very soon. On the side of Al-Ahli, he will notably find Edouard Mendy, Roberto Firmino, Allan Saint-Maximin and Riyad Mahrez.

A win-win deal

Arrived last season, free of any contract, at Barça, and for 0 euro, Franck Kessié will therefore leave Catalonia in the next few hours, in favor of Saudi Arabia. Despite his talent, the Ivorian has never really won in Spain, and this departure is rather beneficial for both parties. The player needs to accumulate playing time, while the Blaugranas need to slim down their squad to strengthen their finances a little this summer.
