Kylian Mbappé has been the subject of much speculation over the past few weeks.

The 24-year-old was recently placed on the transfer list by Paris Saint-Germain because he hasn’t signed a new contract, and a summer departure looks likely.

Real Madrid are favorites to sign Mbappé, and there would certainly be arguments to suggest they would have one of, if not the best, squads in world football if he joined the club this summer.

Despite this, FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta strongly believes his club are more than capable of toppling their El Clasico rivals, as reported Diario AS.

“He is an extraordinary player, someone who makes the difference. Playing against him is difficult, but I have confidence in my team. Barcelona players are the best.

“A team is made up of 11 players and the priority should always be the team rather than the individuals. We have a better team than last year and we will improve it further.

Laporta’s remarks were echoed by Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto, as well as youngster Gavi.

Robert – “For me, Barcelona have the best team in the world. We have a model to fight for everything”.

Gavi-” Real Madrid can sign whoever they want, I don’t care. We will do what we have to do and we will fight to the death (to beat them).

FC Barcelona managed to beat Real Madrid twice last season to win trophies (La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup), and they hope to do so again in 2023-24.
