Valbuena, this indestructible “Little Bike”

At almost 39 years old, Mathieu Valbuena will know a new club. The former French international has signed up for Limassol.

Mathieu Valbuena hasn’t strayed too far from the region for six years, when he signed for Fenerbahçe from Lyon. After his experience in one of the biggest clubs in Turkey (2017-2019), the French midfielder joined Greece.

He wore the Olympiakos Piraeus jersey for four seasons until the summer of 2023. On Thursday, we learned of the transfer of the former international (52 caps – 8 goals) to Cyprus, on the side of Apollon Limassol. Free, Valbuena signed a season.

Nicknamed “Little Bike” by his teammate Modeste M’Bami when the two played for OM, Mathieu Valbuena will turn 39 on September 28.
