The beautiful images of the qualification of Morocco

The Moroccan players had to wait long minutes to know the result of Germany, but they are well qualified for the round of 16 of the World Cup.

Definitely, this 2023 World Cup is full of surprises. After South Africa which eliminates Italy or Jamaica which sends Brazil home, here is now the course of Morocco.

For their very first World Cup, the players of Reynald Pedros had started with a heavy defeat against Germany (0-6). But they then followed up with two historic successes, against South Korea (1-0) and Colombia (1-0).

Despite their six points, the Atlas Lionesses were not certain to qualify. They had to wait on the field for the result of Germany, which was finally held in check by South Korea (1-1), after an additional time of almost 17 minutes. But the Moroccans, once certain of joining the round of 16, were able to let their joy explode!

Morocco will thus face France next Tuesday in Brisbane (1 p.m.) for a place in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
