Big blow in perspective for Chelsea and Christopher Nkunku? The day before, the English club faced Borussia Dortmund in a warm-up match at Soldier Field in Chicago. If the Germans thought they would win after opening the scoring through Wolf (80th, 1-0), they were caught on the wire by the Blues thanks to Burstow (89th, 1-1). Apart from these two goals, another fact of the game kept London fans more in suspense, namely the injury exit of Christopher Nkunku. Coming out of a duel in the box with German defender Mats Hummels, the French striker collapsed and felt knee pain which prevented him from continuing the game, giving way in the 20th minute.

Present at the post-match press conference, Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino spoke about the state of health of his new recruit. “The doctors are examining him and I hope it’s not a big problem. He feels something in his knee, but we hope it’s not serious. We hope he can return to the team soon. We need a few days to evaluate it”said the Argentine technician.
