With his hat-trick scored against Panama, in the third pool match of the 2023 World Cup, Kadidiatou Diani enters the history of Les Bleues.
This Wednesday, the French women’s team qualified for the round of 16 of the World Cup, winning against Panama (6-3). During this rather crazy encounter, Kadidiatou Diani scored a hat-trick.
The native of Ivry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne) first allowed Les Bleues to regain the lead after a shot under the crossbar. The Malian-born striker then found the net twice more, scoring each time from the penalty spot. It is the first time that a French player has scored a hat-trick in a World Cup match. Kadidiatou Diani could probably have scored an extra goal but coach Hervé Renard chose to take her out on the hour mark, to replace her with Laurina Fazer.
1st hat-trick in the World Cup for a player from the French team! 🎩🪄

Since 2014 and his first selection in the jersey struck by the rooster, Kadidiatou Diani scored 22 goals in 87 games. The winger, who had remained silent during the first two matches of Les Bleues during the competition, rose directly to second place among the top scorers in the competition, behind the four achievements of the Japanese Hinata Miyazawa.
