With the money from Ousmane Dembélé’s departure to Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona intends to strengthen its defense.

It is now done, Ousmane Dembélé will leave FC Barcelona to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer. His coach Xavi himself confirmed his departure after the Catalans’ victory against AC Milan, a match in which the French international did not participate.

Barca want Cancelo

The transfer price, which should not exceed 50 million euros, will allow the Blaugranas to strengthen themselves on the transfer market, without necessarily looking for a winger to replace Dembélé. According to information from Fabrizio Romano, it is rather behind that Barça will seek to recruit. With Sergino Dest and Sergi Roberto as the only right-backs, the club is therefore targeting Joao Cancelo.

The Portuguese international comes out of a complicated season. Relegated to the bench by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, he had no more success during his loan to Bayern Munich and is therefore looking to revive himself. “We need a pure right-back”, Xavi said after the game. The Spanish champion will therefore use part of the money raised with Dembélé to make an offer to Cityzens.
