Perhaps they thought their coming to London would be successful. Bayern Munich boss Jan-Christian Dreesen and technical director Marco Neppe (the club’s two new strongmen since the sackings of Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic) have joined England in the hope of sealing the transfer of ‘Harry Kane. They come back with bitterness and the feeling that they will never succeed.

“So many millions are still missing for an agreement”to complain Picture, a photo of Dreesen in support, back in his car in Munich. According to Daily Telegraph, it lacks 20 million pounds, or just over 23 million euros. According SkysportsBayern is ready to go up to 100 M€, which would be their transfer record (the previous one being held by Lucas Hernandez, recruited for 80 M€ from Atlético Madrid).

Levy not letting go of £100m target

But it is still insufficient in the eyes of Daniel Levy, the intransigent president of Tottenham, who has made more than one European leader goat. Real Madrid remembers it well, as it had long broken its teeth in the Gareth Bale file in particular. Bayern would have risen to €100m, with a proposal of €90m + €10m in bonuses. Refusal of Levy, who wants 100 million pounds, or almost 117 M €.

Back to square one therefore for the German leaders. But part of the press remains optimistic. Dreesen and Neppe remain confident and persuaded to achieve their goals. It must be said that Bayern Munich badly need a real number 9, after having experienced life without Robert Lewandowski last season, which resulted in the failure of Sadio Mané and internal tensions.
