It’s an open secret but Saudi Arabia has positioned itself, during this summer transfer window, as one of the major protagonists making rain and shine on the news of the market. After the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in January, the Saudi Pro League managed to attract other players such as Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Riyad Mahrez, Marcelo Brozovic or Sergej Milinković-Savić. An aggressive policy on the transfer window which worries the German coach of Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp:

“Saudi Arabia’s influence is massive. The worst is that their transfer window closes three weeks later than with us. FIFA and UEFA must find solutions to this. It may be quite similar to what happened when China launched their Championship. There was a similar gold rush, and now we see another Championship trying to become more popular and famous. But it remains a little too early to have a clear opinion.he said at a press conference.
