A French Real Madrid star will not play in the Saudi Pro League next season.
Saturday night’s loss to Barcelona (3-0) is disappointing for Real Madrid, who were hoping to get the better of their Clasico rivals ahead of the new season.
Several Los Blancos players have failed in Dallas, including Ferland Mendy. The French left side, much criticized over the past twelve months because of his poor performance, did not convince before having to be replaced in the first half, victim of a hamstring injury.
After the match, a certain Real Madrid offered several Saudi clubs to ‘sign’ Mendy, and received a response from Al-Fateh, who politely rejected the chance.
Mendy has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid this summer, but the chances of that happening could be significantly reduced if the hamstring injury he picked up against Barcelona is serious.
Fran Garcia is set to be Real Madrid’s first left-back for the coming season, having left Rayo Vallecano at the start of the summer. Mendy could be left on the floor after another mediocre performance.
