Spain took a slap against Japan (0-4) and finished second in Group C of the 2023 World Cup.

Already qualified for the round of 16 of the 2023 World Cup, Spain suffered a correction against Japan (0-4), in the match for first place in Group C.

Dominating, with their 77% possession of the ball, the teammates of the Ballon d’Or Alexia Putellas were surprised in the first period: three counter-attacks, three Japanese shots, and three goals signed Hinata Miyazawa (12th, 40th) and Rita Ueki (29th). In the second half, Mina Tanaka worsened the score (83rd).

Spain therefore finished second in their group and will face Switzerland in the round of 16, with their sights set on a possible quarter-final against the United States. Japan will face Norway.
