The artesian club is preparing to hit a big blow on the transfer market by enlisting a midfielder playing in Serie A.
Two weeks before the start of Ligue 1, RC Lens is preparing to move up a gear in the transfer window. The vice-champions of France will try to sign a player playing at AC Milan.
A rookie too expensive for Lens?
The player in question is Charles De Keletaere. Aged 22, the latter had a complicated first season with the Rossonerri and he could be tempted by a rebound elsewhere. Especially if it were to maximize his chances of participating in the next Euro with the Red Devils.
The case is still complex. Milan does not intend to facilitate the task of the Lensois, by setting the bar very high concerning the transfer fee. According to Tuttosport, there will be no deal unless the northern club puts 28 million euros on the table. Which is clearly beyond his means.
This summer, Lens has already signed two reinforcements in the midfield, in this case Stijn Spierings, who arrived free from Toulouse, and Andy Diouf, recruited in Basel for 14M€. But, Franck Haise would like a third defector in order to be well equipped for the various competitions for which his club is engaged.
If he signs for Lens, De Keletaere will have pressure on his shoulders. It will be up to him to do as well as the previous Belgian by the club, in the person of Loïs Openda and it will clearly not be easy.
