Nasser Al-Khelaifi has blocked Marco Verratti’s transfer to Al-Hilal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Kylian Mbappé saga is not the only transfer question facing Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Although the French giants have accepted Al-Hilal’s world-record €300m offer, the Frenchman has no intention of going to Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career.

The same is not true for Marco Verratti. The news that Al-Hilal had also made an offer for the Italian was just as shocking as the news about Mbappé’s offer as it came completely out of the blue.

Verratti has been with the Parisian club for over a decade and has become a symbol of PSG’s era of dominance under the Qataris, but he reportedly jumped at the chance of a big move to Al-Hilal.

However, his potential transfer now faces a serious hurdle.

According to Fabrizio Romano, ” (Nasser) Al Khelaifi has not yet given the green light to the transfer of Marco Verratti to Al Hilal”. Indeed, PSG demands “ Much more “ than the €30m offered for the 30-year-old.

The Italian is still under contract until 2026 and his expected transfer value (ATV) is currently €33.4m. Although he has already agreed to a three-year contract with the Saudi giants, the latter will now have to return to the negotiating table.
