Back to the wall, the Australians corrected Canada (4-0) to stay in the race for the World Cup.

Surprised by Nigeria the previous day, Australia was forced to win this Tuesday against Canada to stay in the running in the 2023 World Cup, which it is organizing with New Zealand.

Still without their star Sam Kerr, injured, the Matildas responded by correcting the Canadians (4-0), reigning Olympic champions, with goals from Hailey Raso (9th, 39th), Mary Fowler (58th) and Stephanie Catley (90th+4).

Australia even finished top of their group, ahead of Nigeria, who failed to beat Ireland (0-0), while Canada was eliminated. The Australians should thus avoid England in the round of 16.
