It’s only a matter of an hour before the transfer of Sadio Mané to Al Nassr is formalized. Cold with his leaders and after a delicate season with Bayern Munich, the Senegalese striker said goodbye to his teammates, currently in pre-season training in Asia, and is expected in Saudi Arabia to perform the traditional medical examination. If the departure of the 31-year-old player leaves a taste of unfinished business in Germany, his transfer will have consequences for the financial fallout from his former club, Liverpool.

The Mirror indicates that the imminent arrival of Sadio Mané at Al-Nassr will cause his former club Liverpool to lose £7.5m. Last summer, Bayern Munich paid around £27.5m to secure the services of the Reds striker, with an additional £7.5m expected if the player achieved certain performances. Despite a promising start with the Bavarian team, Sadio Mané was cut in his tracks due to an injury which also deprived him of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Back from injury, the Senegalese struggled to regain his former form, as evidenced by his insufficient personal statistics for a striker of his rank (38 games, 12 goals, 6 assists in all competitions). Also, the requirements based on his performance were not met and the clauses could not be released.
