For a few weeks now, the rag has been burning between Kylian Mbappé and PSG. At the end of a fairly phenomenal season, during which he notably became the capital club’s top scorer, the 24-year-old striker made his leaders cringe at the end of June. The reason ? The top scorer of the last World Cup made the PSG board understand, via a letter sent to them, his desire not to activate his last year of contract as an option. A decision which had the gift of provoking the ire of the Parisian staff, furious against their player.
Their anger even led them not to call him up during the Asian tour of Luis Enrique’s flock, meaning that the former Monegasque is now part of the loft of the capital club. Courted from then on by Al-Hilal, who had made a fabulous offer to attract him, Mbappé said he was ready to spend the season in the closet in Paris, thus repelling the advances of the Gulf. And while the showdown seems to be at its height between the two clans, it is a mild understatement to say that the captain of the France team does not even imagine activating his extension clause, which expires this Monday.
PSG know that Real Madrid are preparing an offensive at the end of the transfer window
While the dialogue would be broken between Nasser Al-Khelaifi and the representatives of Kylian Mbappé about this extension of the lease, Paris knows that something is brewing on the side of Madrid. Convinced that his player already has an agreement with Real Madrid to join the center of Spain for free next summer, the management of PSG expects a modest offer made at the very end of the transfer window by their Iberian counterparts according to RMC Sports. Our colleagues add that this expected proposal as “extremely low and insulting” would also do the Merengue’s business for their communication.
Indeed, by formulating a ridiculous amount of money for Mbappé, Madrid leaders will be able to claim that they tried to recruit the latter but that PSG blocked his departure. A way for the Merengue to put themselves in a position of strength and show the Mbappé clan that they have indeed activated to recruit him this summer. According to the latest indiscretions from the Iberian press this Sunday, Real was not ready to put in more than 200 million to sign Mbappé in August. Flushed for 180 million euros in Monaco in the summer of 2017, this pretty jackpot would then offer an appreciable added value to Parisians, who surely expect less when they speak of an “extremely low” sum. Whatever happens, an arrival of Kylian Mbappé at Real Madrid seems to have already been acquired, whether through a derisory offer in the coming weeks or freely next summer. It remains to be seen how the last days, weeks or months of the 2018 world champion will unfold in Paris.
