Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte looks almost certain to leave the club this summer.

Laporte was instrumental in the Etihad Stadium resident side’s standout season in the 2022/23 campaign, as City won a historic treble and the first Champions League in their history.

The lack of first-team action is a major point of frustration for the 29-year-old as he wants regular club play to retain his starting spot with Spain at Euro 2024.

FC Barcelona were initially linked with a possible transfer, but the arrival of Inigo Martinez put an end to their interest and Premier League rivals Crystal Palace are also following him.

According to information from Manchester Evening Newsthe situation is set to come to a conclusion in the coming weeks, with Josko Gvardiola set to join City.

If Gvardiola completes his long-awaited transfer from RB Leipzig, Laporte will officially be looking to transfer, as he would find himself even lower in the defensive hierarchy in Manchester.
