Paris Saint-Germain’s supposed interest in Pedri has the Catalan press puzzled.

The little bomb was dropped on Friday evening by PSG Community. The site, which announced the arrival of Luis Enrique in Paris in early June, now ensures that the capital club is very hot on the Pedri file. PSG would like to rely on a temporary release clause which could make the Spanish international available for 110 million euros.

The Catalan press is doubtful to say the least. First about this famous clause, since Pedri has extended until 2026 with FC Barcelona with a release clause officially set at 1 billion euros. In addition, Mundo Deportivo ensures that the discussions that may have taken place with PSG around the Pedri case date back several months, well before the arrival of Luis Enrique.

It is therefore not the Spanish coach who has targeted the Canarian midfielder as a possible successor to Marco Verratti. According to Mundo Deportivo, Luis Enrique knows that this operation is not feasible, financially, and would especially not want to harm his former club.

In addition, the Catalan media ensures that Pedri has no intention of leaving Barça, even if he appreciates Luis Enrique, his former coach with La Roja. The Blaugranas, despite their economic difficulties, do not want to part with their jewel, “unless there is a record offer”, indicates Mundo Deportivo.
