Inter striker Lautaro Martinez said he was at odds with his former teammate, Belgian Romelu Lukaku.
Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez has revealed that Romelu Lukaku refused to answer his calls as he wanted to hear from him and understand why he acted badly with the institution.
Martinez “disappointed” by Lukaku
The Chelsea striker spent last season on loan with Inter but is now in talks to sign for Juventus. His decision to join the reviled rival has angered many at Inter and Lautaro admits he didn’t expect this kind of attitude from his fellow striker.
“I tried to call him but he never answered me”, he explains. “He did the same with his other teammates. After so many years together, I was disappointed.
The Argentine, however, does not allow himself to be polluted by this story. He is already focused on the coming season and in particular his role as captain. “Wearing this armband means taking on more responsibility within the team, in the locker room. But that’s what I’ve always done, even before I was captain. I always did everything I could to help my teammates when they needed it.
